Vincenzo de Luca is born around 1792 in Corleone, the son of Filippo de Luca and Maria Tinnirello, who married in 1788. He is named after his paternal grandfather.
Vincenzo marries Rosalia Merendino, daughter of Antonino Merendino and Bernarda Marsalisi, on 9 February 1813.[1]
Rosalia and Vincenzo have at least three children: Maria (c. 1814), Leoluca (c. 1822), and Gaetana (c. 1828). They also raise two foundlings, Francesco (c. 1820) and Filippo (c. 1826).
In 1834, Vincenzo de Luca, 42 (b. 1792), his wife Rosalia, 36 (b. 1798), and children Maria, 20 (b. 1814), Francesco, a foundling, 14 (b. 1820), Leoluca, 12 (b. 1822), Filippo, who is also a foundling, 8 (b. 1826), and Gaetana, 6 (b. 1828), live in the vanella di Oliva in Corleone.[2]
